COMMON PESTS
Ants
There are many types of ants in our region, and to the untrained eye they may all look the same. Some of the most common species we deal with are: Pavement, Argentine, Odorous, Pharaoh, Carpenter, Thief, Citronella and Small Honey Ants. This is only a small list of the multitude of ant species known to man! It is important to know which kinds of ants are present to properly treat according to that species’ known behavioral patterns. All ants are not the same and all treatments are not the same.
Ants will invade any structure once a food supply or nest site has been found. Do not believe a living area must be dirty for ants to infest it. Once they have chosen a structure for nesting or as a food source, simple spraying will not provide proper control. In fact, many times spraying inside will only cause the problem to get worse! Once control is gained, it is recommend to begin outside perimeter treatments to ensure the ants do not re-infest the home.
The trained service technicians at SAWYER will first identify the type of ant invading, to then provide the best possible treatment for that species. After a thorough inspection of the species and an application of product tailored for that particular species, the SAWYER service technician will suggest action the client should take to help the effectiveness of the treatment. The same maintenance agreement that takes care of ant problems will also cover cockroaches, mice, rats, silverfish, earwigs, pillbugs, paper wasps and even spiders.
